Check the vehicle and logbook before you pay
- Get an official copy of records from NTSA on eCitizen using the number plate. It shows the registered owner and any caveat or loan on the vehicle.
- Scan the QR code on the e-logbook. NTSA shows instantly whether it is genuine.
- The owner's name on the records must match the seller's national ID. If it doesn't, stop.
- Compare the chassis and engine numbers on the vehicle with the logbook, and have a mechanic you trust inspect it.
- Pay when the transfer is started on eCitizen, not before. Avoid cash for large amounts.
